I'm Simon Martin,  and I'm a London based artist, specialising in Technical and Special Effects. My journey to the workshop has been an interesting one. After ten years as an Intensive Care Nurse, I made the somewhat terrifying decision to leave my full time work and head back to school to pursue a childhood dream.  I enrolled  at the University of the Arts London to study Technical and Special Effects, and four years later I am so excited to start a journey  in a creative career that I have been dreaming of since 1993.

 

  

    Throughout my studies I have had the opportunity to become familiar with multiple skills, including sculpture, prosthetics, moulding and casting, as well as other fabrication techniques.   I am particularly passionate about sculpting and creature design/effects and really hope to further my knowledge in these fields.
